The Night of June 24th

On a cold night in June 2023, 18-year-old Dylan Bothma left his home in Heidelberg, Gauteng, full of life and excitement to attend a "Sweet 16" birthday party. He was dropped off by his father, expecting an evening of celebration with friends.

He would never return home.

According to eyewitness accounts and the Carte Blanche investigation, the events that unfolded were not a simple accident. Reports suggest an altercation occurred at the party hosted by Riaan Strydom. Dylan, allegedly injured and frightened, fled the property.

Hours later, Dylan was found on the R23 road, having sustained fatal injuries. Witnesses mentioned a white bakkie with orange stickers chasing him. Despite the suspicious circumstances and witness testimonies regarding assault, justice has been slow.

This website serves as a record of the truth, a memorial to a beloved son, and a call to action for anyone who knows something to speak up.

Petition for Justice and Transparency in the Dylan Bothma Case

We, the undersigned members of the public, respectfully call on the relevant authorities to insure that the case involving the death of Dylan Bothma receives the full attention it deserves.

Many members of the community believe that important questions remain unanswered. Every family deserves the truth, and every investigation must be conducted with fairness, transparency, and accountability.

That the case of Dylan Bothma be reviewed to insure that all evidence and information have been properly investigated.
That transparency be provided to the family and community regarding the progress of the case.
That any individual involved in wrongdoing be held accountable according to the laws of South Africa.
